    3.4.2.01 Feedback 2

How about making some cosmetic changes in Multiplex "Other Settings" when using Sample?
    - I am not sure if you can activat/deactivate "Fast start" for Samples.
    - Muxed streams always remain in the grid using Samples, so the feature may be grayed out or disappear.
    - The chapters are set correctly using Samples so that feature stay.

Wouldn't it now make sense to leave the Multiplex page open after "Simple Remux" as long as streams remain in the grid like with normal Multiplex?

Fast start works with samples too.

Muxed streams always remain in the grid using Samples, so the feature may be grayed out or disappear.
If you mux a sample, it makes no sense to remove the streams. A sample can be repeated as often as you like.
Afterwards, everything remains open and ready for the final muxing.

Yes, of course, will change this.

Of course. I mean, everything works as it should.
However, the "Remove multiplexed streams" feature is still visible and enabled when Sample is enabled, so it's normal to assume this removal will happens even if it doesn't make sense.
For this reason, it may be better to disable this feature or make it disappear while Sample is enabled.

There is now a pop-up message that says something like the file is successfully muxed that forces me to close it before I can mux the next file. The version you sent me automatically remove the muxed streams and does not waste my time with the pop up message.
This message is intended and is shown only, if there are residual streams after muxing.

Can you please send me that one again?
No, this file was a temporary file, no longer available.
The newest version works the way it has always worked.

1 Pop-up message comes up every time forcing me to close it.

    2. After pop-message is cleared, no longer needed streams are still there and require a manual clearing for them to disappear.

I guess I was lucky for a few days when you gave me the version that automatically clear the muxed file with no annoying pop-up message that force me to close it.

Edit: after looking through my computer, I saw a copy of a previous version without the language codes but works the way I like. I will use this version instead. I have to type in the language codes, but won't have to constantly click to close the pop-up message and to remove the muxed file.

The lesson for me is: make a copy of the version that you like before updating. Thanks.

May be one of the users hasn't updated yet and can send you a copy.

    3.4.2.02 Feedback

The cosmetic changes on the Multiplex and Chapters page are good!

When you create new chapters, the file Chapters.txt is created.
But the new beta is looking for Created_chapters.txt so you can not use Edit chapters as that file does not exist.
And Multiplex does not create an output file caused by the missing Created_chapters.txt file too.

    New idea:
Automatic creation of chapters every x minute. Usefull for long events like six hours Tour de France stages.

    ---

Should this be visible with Simple remux?
I guess hidden streams only appear for added files and get automatically removed for source files?

Good to know: Selecting a single stream is enough to Simple remux the entire file!

Hovering over the text always show this information:

    Info:
If you edit the Idx grid field and it stay empty, or it is not a number or a long number like 77777777777, you get a DataGridView error message.
You also can enter letters and special characters into the Delay field, but that gets ignored while multiplexing.
But why should someone do that!?

    Should this be visible?

I have a ts file that doesn't load properly in 'clever', but plays OK in MPC.

if I try loading it in Multiplex, nothing is loaded, and nothing happens.

if I try loading it in open source file, I get no streams, but a single png attachment !!!

    Image

and I get an error right away as shown ...

Yes, as you have already noticed, it is sufficient to select a stream for simple remux and the entire file with all streams will be remuxed. The display shows you how many streams are being remuxed.

I guess hidden streams only appear for added files and get automatically removed for source files?
No, I have changed that. Now you can select and hide any stream.

Hovering over the text always show this information:
This is an old tooltip that I have forgotten.
    Will be fixed.

    4. However, after muxing, the muxing page disappear. I have to click on the "Muxing" button each time to do a new file. Please make the muxing page stay.

    Thank you.

The muxing page only disappears when there are no more streams in the mux grid.
Simply move several videos into it for muxing, then you can work through them one by one.

Drag and drop is how I use this app. Maybe using the "Add file" button will make it behave differently? Anyway:

    1. I drag and drop 2 files and 4 subs to be muxed. Only the top file is muxed.

Is there a way for me to send you the file I like using? I tried to upload it here, but the website says it is an invalid file. Thanks.

No, all is muxed this way, both videos and all 4 subs, because you have selected all streams on the left.

You only see 1 video as output, because the file name of the first selected stream is used and all streams are muxed into this file.
If you open this output file in clever FFmpeg GUI, you will find 8 streams in it, 2 video, 2 audio and 4 subtitle streams.

The correct way (for your example) would be to select only the first 4 streams on the left (the ones with the same name), then click on Multiplex.
After muxing, the window would then remain open with the remaining 4 streams for muxing.
If you have also muxed these, you will find 2 videos in the destination folder, as expected.

    2. After muxing, the muxing page disappears.
Of course, there are no more streams to mux.

    For what?

    This is not necessary.

Wouldn't it make sense to offer the "Stay Open" function on the multiplex page? As usual, it's disabled by default and wouldn't disrupt the logical automatic closing of the page when the grid empties.
With "Stay Open" enabled, you just drop the necessary streams and then mux them all, then drop the next required streams and mux them all again, and so on.

    This is not necessary.
I vaguely remember you saying that multiple files and added before muxing. I used 2 files and 4 subs as an example. Normally, I drag one file and 2 subs. Mux them and add another file and 2 subs. This is why I need the mux page to remain open. Otherwise I have click on the "Multiplex" button for each file. Often time I do up to 10 files. That's a lot clicking. I am not asking for anything different. You already gave me a version that works exactly the way I like. It's my fault I lost it.

The version I using now keeps the mux page open but without the language codes. I am happy enough. Though I would even happier if it display the language codes. Thanks.

What's the harm in giving users a choice, even if you disagree with it.

Oh right! You replaced "Remove streams" with "Hide streams".
So you can't accidentally delete streams. Good idea!
And of course, it has the advantage of being able to display streams again, by click at "Show hidden" or automatic after muxing, but that should not happen after you mux a sample.
The hidden streams remain highlighted when unhiding, but when you click "None" to deactivate all streams, this also apply to hidden streams. Could the hidden streams be excluded from this when you click "None"? This makes it easier to hide them again or add new ones.

    ---

"Stay open" on the multiplex page is working as intended. Thank you very much!
I personally don't need it - so far

I will change this so that All/None only affects the visible streams.

Seems odd since the file has conformant video/audio streams.

You could try to remux the file with ffmpeg.
    ffmpeg -analyzeduration 100M -probesize 50M - i "input.ts" -map 0 -c copy output.mkv

  24. Tried your command and was getting errors reading the input .. then I tried this command w/audio:

    ffmpeg -hide_banner -analyzeduration 100M -probesize 50M -i "test.ts" -map 0 -c copy -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc -y output.mkv

the conversion lasted ~ 10 sec, created output.mkv, and I got this log:

Can you please be so kind and add an own "Frame accurate cut" help page.
For example, to explain that you set the CRF level for all cuts right at the beginning. Or that editing requires three steps.

The 3 steps are mentioned, hoovering over Frame accurate cut.
Will add a tooltip to the CRF setting.
