i would like to know if tmpgenc could like fix the subtitles from being cut off i understand with fansubs it hard in stead of of the ratio as 4:3 i put it on 16:9 now i can see everything with no cut off at the bottom but now i have a big black margins around the whole anime and it looks ugly watching it on a 61" tv i would like to know how i can fix this to fullscreen or even wide screen with out subtitles being cut off thanks.

Either you haven't set it up correctly for 16:9, or it is 4:3 in a 16:9 frame, which is why you have the pillarbox effect. You should be able to do it in tmpgenc very easily, and if you search you will find the answer. I don't use tmpgenc, so I can't give you specifics, however you can also do the same thing with avisynth and FitCD, then encode with tmpgenc. Again, search the forums for FitCD, Overscan and/or Subtitles and you will find plenty of posts.

Take a look at my mini-guide to using FitCD ---> CLICK HERE

The nice thing about FitCD is that it has an option to account for TV OVERSCAN which is essential with fan subbed videos.

If you are encoding a letterboxed 16:9 image with subtitles below image and it has proper aspect ratio when played as 4:3, the correct settings for TMPGEncXpress3 will be:
a)in resize filter: full screen (rather than 'centre'), be sure to uncheck default 'keep aspect ratio' box (otherwise you'll get new black bars and distorted image,
    b)use 4:3 DVD encoding template
You can check your settings just before encoding in preview pop-up accessible from output window.
Do I correctly understand the details of your source video?

Fansub subtitles don't observe the safety margins needed to account for overscan. There's nothing you can do about it. You can try forcing a huge margin around it to counter the overscan, but then since you can't really adjust the overscan you end up with visible margins.

On a PC the problem does not exist since a PC has no overscan. Every pixel is displayed. Not true on a TV.

He has fan subbed probably anime and those ******** always put the subtitles really low on the image so when you encode it to MPEG-2 DVD spec the normal TV OVERSCAN ends up cutting off the subtitles so you have to resize and pad the image with a black border so that TV OVERSCAN doesn't cover up the subs.

I don't know why those fanboys can't figure that shit out.

    Did you install AviSynth ?

The script seems OK although it's just text you didn't have to do an "image" of it.

My guess is you haven't installed AviSynth.

    P.S.
Seems the AviSynth website is "down" right now. In fact I think it has been this way for a few days now so hopefully it will be back up sooner than latter.

You just open the AVS file directly into your MPEG encoder ... treat it as if it were a video file.

There are a ton of guides on this site that cover all of this in extreme detail.
