Selur's Hybrid nor Staxrip seems to have the problem with IVTC'ing ProRes based on prior testing.

Preview window works at least for crop, but the detelecine doesn't nor does the split screen aspect at least for me, see attached - says "no preview" on the left and right side still appears interlaced despite IVTC filter

I can post a Google Drive link to a relatively short ProRes422 unprocessed (still interlaced) capture file if that'd be helpful.

Thanks for all of your hard work, seems like a great interface, I just seem to still find roadblocks on the Mac ARM version at least.

Your video is field blended. It can't just be IVTCed.

Interesting - this came off of a U-Matic distribution copy of the music video which would have been used and entities like MTV. Basically all such U-Matic content I've come across does fine with IVTC, so wonder why this one ended up different?

My best guess: Because the source was not 24fps film but 25fps (ore some artwork mix) which got poorly framerate converted by fieldblending instead of applying proper pulldown.

Super minor points, the program "Close" cross at the top right of the window only appears when I put my mouse pointer over the area. It would be good to have it visible all the time.

The side-pointing arrow entices me to click on it. Nothing happens. I suspect it is indicating that there are more controls, which are at the bottom, so perhaps it should be a down-arrow and the controls panel then pops up immediately below the pipeline item? Or just remove the side-facing arrow altogether?

Odd, I'll take a look. The program's not doing anything special to try to hide the close button, so... ? Will add it to my TODO list.

This has bugged me too for a while but has been low enough down the list I haven't gotten to it. I'd personally like each section to expand and contract in-place rather than showing as another section disconnected below. I'll bump it up the list a bit, thanks.

Thank you for creating Vapourbox! I was looking for a high powered deinterlacer/denoiser for Mac OS and since the Hybrid app stopped working on Mac OS, I didn't know what to use until yesterday! I did a render on a video that was very noisey and once I figured out the parameters to use, the video came out extra clean. It got rid of all the noise and maintained the detail of the video. Im excited to include this in my upscaling workflow and I look forward to the potential updates and upgrades to be added to an already fantastic tool! Thanks again!

I did a render the other day using Vapourbox and noticed some “shaking” along edges. I read that it needs “anti-aliasing” filter but I don’t know how to install it in Vapourbox. Can some explain to me like I’m 5 years old on how to do it? Any help will be much appreciated.

"Shaking along edges" sounds like lack of a stabiliser of some type. Could you be more specific, or post a short capture showing it?

Hey everyone, I've had a busy weekend.

New release - v0.9.11!!!

This is a massive new release - there has been a big overhaul to the UI focusing on usability, especially for new users... and finally an actual app icon. Additionally there's a bunch of new filters and parameters you can play with, a bunch of bug fixes including a patch to fmtconv used by QTGMC affecting MacOS and Linux users (that was a deep dive!) that addresses reported chroma issues.

A question, each time we install a new version, a big download occurs. Are the old-download files deleted automatically?

It'll only do the download if the tool bundle needs updating, which for the last few app updates has been required, but it's not always the case. It overwrites the existing installed bundle, so don't worry about having to delete the old one.

Tool definitely has come a long way - Still doesn't preview 10 bit ProRes422 files though and crop settings I'm not sure exactly how you'd visualize pre and post since the slider can't slide all the way to the left, so you're kind of guessing how much to crop from the left side unless I'm missing something. Still just tried the Mac ARM version if that matters. Guessing this uses similar stuff under the hood as Hybrid and there's no issues with ProRes files there as far as I can tell.

I did also try it with a ProRes422 file just for the heck of it even though preview didn't work. It seemed to ignore my rescaling/upscaling setting and also didn't actually crop anything even though it was set to. The actual QTGMC deinterlace part seemed to have worked though, but not very usable as is if it ignores the rest of the settings for me anyway.

Yeah I haven't still done much testing with ProRes422 beyond the initial import failure, that'll be next on my list to take a look at because it's pretty fundamental. And broadly speaking it runs the same filtering logic under the bonnet but how it's all plumbed together is a bit different to Hybrid so will have a different set of issues.

This is excellent software! I’m glad I found it. Old VHS captures can have dropped frames or irregular timestamps, which may cause the audio to drift out of sync during editing. Is there a way to convert them to a constant frame rate?
