I think Clever would be even easier to use if it opens on the main page. The main page has all the options whereas the currently opened page only has two: join and multiplex.

No big deal. Just a thought.

I only use the drag and drop method for opening files. Why? because dragging and dropping is so much faster. With the "open file" method you can only select one file at a time. The trade off is you have to keep Clever stay on top. That is not a problem, as there are free stay-on-top apps you can download to do the job.

One of the best is AutoHotkey. Here are two simple scripts for opening Clever and keep the selected page stay on top. Please suggest better alternatives. Thanks.

That doesn't make sense.
The normal way to edit a video file is to load it.
This will display the streams with all the associated information.
There is no space for this in the main window.
Loading multiple files only makes sense with multiplex, join and batch.

No, you can also load multiple files using the button; you just have to select them first.

Like all programs, clever FFmepg-GUI should not remain permanently on top, as this would prevent other programs from being used at the same time.
It is programmed so that it returns to the top after encoding, for example.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been following the Clever FFmpeg-GUI thread and it looks like a very handy, portable interface for FFmpeg. I’m wondering if anyone has tried or knows whether it can support live streaming directly to Icecast2 servers using VP9/WebM, similar to setups shown in some recent tutorials.

We’ve been testing live VP9/WebM streaming to Icecast2 with OBS or FFmpeg, and it works reliably for adding video (studio/DJ feed or other visuals) alongside audio.

It would be amazing if Clever FFmpeg-GUI could offer this functionality too, or if there’s a known workflow to integrate it for live Icecast streaming.

Any insights, tips, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

How about four smaller text changes on the cut page.
- Replacing "KF" with "frame" as you use the search also for b and p frames in "Frame accurate cut", and not only for i frames?
- The time format is usually lowercase. ISO 8601 uses (hh:mms.f).
- The units for "Cut duration" could simply be "(seconds)".
- And "Cut marks" might be named "Cut marks list". Also on the "How to" page. But that's a matter of taste!

Feedback: Preview & Sample related ..

We now have 3 sets of previews at different levels:

1- At the main video encode screen [Ex: to preview Color Space]
2- Under various [Ex: to preview LUT Colors]
3- Under various/properties [Ex: to preview Gamma Colors]

And given that tweaking at every level requires multiple previews
[avg of 12 per tweak], imagine that you are interrupted, every
time you enter any of these previews, by a popup asking you to
enter the preview starting time in the dropdown. Every time !!

Would it not make more sense to add a remember checkbox,
or save this start time under main settings page 2, next to, or
under H preview.

The same issue applies to 'process a sample' popup which asks
you for start time and duration every single time you generate
a sample, which can be many times, simply because there is a
slight difference between the preview and the generated output
file.

Finally .. a question ..

Q: In portable.config, you are saving both:

<preview_w>720</preview_w>
<preview_h>360</preview_h>

but In settings, you are showing only 1 [preview_h] ..
any reason?

P.S. keep up the great work .. and don't skip unit testing when
making changes.

Saving the setting doesn't make sense because the setting is source-related
(e.g., you save 300 seconds as the start and 120 seconds as the duration, and the next video is only 200 seconds long).
But I can change it so that the value is only queried once as long as you stay in this section.

The task is to search for KF.
It goes without saying that you can use frame accurate cut to select any start frame.

Tried to duplicate this on my system, but I get a slightly different outcome.

If I select "Use LUT's", the Color space section disappears but the Pxel format is totally functional.
Both are restored and function ok when I deselect "Use LUTs", no issues here.

I don't have PQ_to_HLG.cube so couldn't test that part ..

These assumptions are subjective ..

My library of videos range in size from 30 mb - 5 Gb, I delete or join small clips so technically
I don't have any. also when I edit color, a sample of 30 sec duration is enough for my needs.
which can fit in the smallest clips.

when was the last time you edited a 200 sec clip [3 min clip], and even if you had, why would
you generate a sample for such a small clip [which is already a sample size]

Also I left the type of resolution up to you, which means you can implement an optional save
[St ,dur] functionality, leaving the status co as is, while adding a new save option.

I just noticed that Color range does not get reset to Like source, like Color space and Pixel format does when you deselect Use LUT's. The same happens when you deselect HDR.

If you change the value, it will remain that way until you change it again.

Perfect 10/10, a joy to test now. 10xd my testing speed.

All the various filters I tried work as expected:

Rotate / flips always worked fine
Properties: every single filter works, unsharp, denoise, gamma, grayscale, C,B,S.
and above all .. tested option bleed, no more bleeds between options if unchecked.
options work beautifully together as well [in combination, if checked]

Stability:
---------
- No DGV issues so far
- Navigating and moving fast between screen does not yield crashes
- Have not seen any array index errors/crashes for 3 days now ..
