Timing loss

I got a dvd sub and want to edit the timing and sync it with blu-ray sources?

The problem is the bluray video may add a few minutes so there will be a different frame rate!! i tried syncing it with Subtitle Edit but it didn't solve the whole timing issue, it syncs at first but then losses after a while! is there a way to fix this in vobsub or any other editor???? *There is only one non-english sub to this movie in subscene.

Either that or the Blu-Ray has some additional content. It should be an easy matter to determine the relative framerates. Have you checked?

And what kind of DVD subs do you have? VobSubs (IDX/SUB)? If so you can change the framerate (say, from 25 to 23.976 or 24fps) in SubtitleCreator, among other ways.

The dvd subs is SRT. I could not find any solution.

The only way you can sync it to a blu-ray source with different timing is to manually adjust the time codes at the point where they change,if it's scene changes it will be a lot of work,if it's just a delay/advance then you can set the all the times codes ahead or back.

I use Subtitle Edit for my editing.

The problem is the bluray source is 4 minute more than the dvd one so it doesn't work with the simple way. If there is no way but point-sync that's difficult coz then i should change every line code.

It's not a subtitle editor so, no.

At the end there's a 4 minute difference between the voice and the subtitle? And is the film about 100 minutes (1 hour 40 minutes) long? If so you might be in luck. Your Blu-Ray is at film speed (23.976 or 24fps) while it sounds like your subs came from a PAL source. You can stretch the sub timings in SubtitleCreator, among other programs. I already mentioned this earlier yet you haven't even tried yet? Most subtitle programs have this ability since it's such a common problem.

Stretch the sub as same as the video's frame rate?

Yes i found that SE has this feature. (Changing frame rates)
