  1. I'm currently remuxing my BDs into mkv files. My native language is not English and I have an import BD that didn't get released in my country. However, I do have the DVD that did get released here, I demuxed the audio from that. The problem is that the movie got a little longer intro scene which means the audio stream from the DVD would have to be resynced for the BD video stream.

I know I could just rely on my ear and find a roughly accurate offset value with my player but I'm looking for a program that would let me do this more precisely; like seeing the two audio graphs and being able to match up sword clings or similar effects with near-perfect accuracy.

The frame rates are likely different as well. That'll make it more complicated than just shifting the audio a certain amount of time. Have you checked that?

  3. They're both constant 23.976

But I'm also interested in the more complicated method you refer to, in case I run into it in the future.

I think only way to match audio is by feel. The reason is, if you want to match it exactly by wave matching, you have to demux both audio and use audio editor to insert silence into a DVD track to match starting point due to longer intro.
Problem is that audio is most likely 5.1 or 7.1 ac3 or DTS and none of free or payed audio software will accept it, unless you want to do it in stereo.

  5. Okay, thanks guys. I played it by ear. Pretty weird there's no proper software for what I would assume to be a rather demanded process in non-English speaking countries.
