I want to extract a segment from an mkv file. I select Split mode: by parts based on timestamps. Set 00:00:02-00:00:30. But it always extracts from 00:00:05, no matter what other number I write there. It doesn't want to go below 05 seconds from the beginning. I use 20.0.0 due to my operating system.
How can I make it respect my setting?

You can't,if you want precise timing you will need to re-encode,keyframes are what causing the issues for you.
I think,therefore i am a hamster. -
It'll split from the very beginning. 00:00:00-00:00:30
MKVToolNix will only split on keyframes though, and it seems the second keyframe is at the five second point, with the first one at the beginning, of course.
Whatever frame number or time you tell MKVToolNix to split on, if that's not on a keyframe it'll start splitting on the first keyframe after the point you specified.Avisynth functions Resize8 Mod - Audio Speed/Meter/Wave - FixBlend.zip - Position.zip
