  1. I have a video file that subtitle file that will not mux with MKV Merge. The file that is not recognized by MKV Merge is an idk. Typically, the SRT's are provided, but not in this case. What can I use to add the idk subtitle to the video since it does not work with MKV Merge?

    Thanks

  2. You haven't really told us anything about the subtitle file. Since mkvmerge is the de-facto standard mkv muxer I suggest you do one of the following:
    1. Convert the subtitle to a format that mkvmerge knows (e.g. SRT). Try SubtitleEdit for that.
    2. If you think mkvmerge should support the file but somehow doesn't report it to the developer. He is usually quick to answer. (Don't forget to upload the subtitle to his ftp server) https://mkvtoolnix.download/bugreports.html

If you want us to take a look you must attach the file here.

Use second import option. Since it is most probably picture based, you need to OCR it to get text based subtitles. But in subtitle edit it is pretty straight forward.
