If you google clvsd.ax you see that it's part of some of cyberlinks products like powerdvd. Try uninstall it. Or manually find the clvsd.ax and unregister it, see http://www.free-codecs.com/guides/How_to_install_uninstall_DLL_and_AX_files.htm .

    Replace filename.ax with clvsd.ax.

  5. The advice in that link is terrible. You should never copy things into the system32 directory unless you absolutely have to (VfW codecs are examples - usually) and you know what you are doing.

The advice should be to use the command:

    Code:
    regsvr32 <full path to file>
e.g., if clvsd.ax is installed in C:\Program Files\PowerDVD (I have no idea if it is) then in the Run... box, type:

    Code:
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\PowerDVD\clvsd.ax"
    The quotes are important.

I find that when you copy certain dll ax ocx files into system32 folders and register them then when you go to the folder the files are in windows will hang and you have to shut down the process, also trying to get into system32 folder to delete the file causes the folder to hang.

This happens in vista and winxp.Best to uninstall and reinstall.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

Did you install any other Cyberlink product? Or a codec pack that might, for some reason, have included it (even though they're probably not supposed to)?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

Codec packs are a bad idea. They often screw up systems. try to uninstall and install only the codecs you need or something like ffdshow.

Also part of "BoliGego Codec Manager" available at freecodecs.com

    Location could refer to

    C:\program files\cyberlink\shared files\videofilter\clvsd.ax
