    You can

Use Nero to create a VCD (low quality, limited capacity)
Use DivxtoDVD to create a DVD (much better quality, up to three hours to a DVD)
Use a divx capable to dvd player to play the original files from a data DVD.

All of this is covered to some dgree in the guides to your left <-

Just look up the conversion you want and dive in.

Select VCD in Nero Burning Rom or Nero Vision and add the avi and burn...

Or if you have a dvd writer use instead ConvertXtoDVD and make a DVD from the AVI.

Or if you dvd player supports divx then it might be enought to just burn the avi on a cd / dvd.

Which DVD player do you have?
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

I hope that's a typo. Most DVD players won't play DVD on CD. Of course, some won't even play burned DVDs either. Depends on your player. Hence Ai Haibara's question.
