Check and update firmware for unit .
    Try again .

If you have a friend with another pc using xp , preferably an amd system , try burning on their pc .

Note : On occassion , some unit's dont like intel system's that use the 4 wire power connector , strange , but I have seen this happen ... amd system's dont use the extra connector .

If still stuck , and unit under warrantee , take it back and trade for an lg unit (good) , sony (second) , pioneer (third) .

it was my first thought to update the firmware Bjs but my drive is a SOHW-1633S BPSA which from reading is OEM and it seems like no 2 people have had the same results flashing it. i don't even know for sure which update to use since it's not supported on the lite-on site. think I'll just get another drive any recommendations would be appreciated

Should'nt all DVD burning be SAO(Session At Once) or is DAO the same?
