Hi all,
I have used Windows XP, Acer laptop, FireWire 1394, windows movie maker to capture my film from a little handy cam (sony Digital handy cam) and I converted it to DVDR by using Nero 7.
The problem is when i watch it in my DVD player it has every bad quality. why?
Thanks for your response.

Use instead WinDV to capture the dv stream(Or capture in Windows Movie Maker and export as DV, not WMV).
Convert it to dvd using nerovision...or I would try another all-in-one converter like tmpgenc dvd author 3 or if you don't need fancy menus you can use free tools like dvd flick, favc.
