Inclusion of DV footage into HDV format project

I started to work with HDV using Canon XH A1. I have however a lot of DV footage which I would like to use. When I import my DV format avi files into the Premier and try to combine with HDV files in HDV setting project the quality of DV drops strongly. How I could use DV file with HDV formats?

By editing the DV footage so you know what you are going to use, then using something like RedGiant's Instant HD or VideoEnhancer to scale the Dv to HD resolutions with minimal degradation. These super resolution programs are slow to process, but can produce better results than a standard resize function when going to HD resolutions. For lower resolution material the value is arguably more questionable.
