as well kown, most professional video edit system only support its own
format except adobe premiere. So my own divx avi file can not import those system.
some one told me that many system can support DV50 format file.
So, I want to konw how to write a dv50 file? what is the format of dv50
file? what is the codec or header info of dv50 file? and so on......
any answer will be appreciated!
(I am talking about the broadcasting type apps. and want to develop a tools which convert nonDv50 file to be DV50 file.)

dv50 = divx 5(.0)
either download the divx codec, or better yet, download the xvid codec and have it do it without the spyware..

Dx50 != DV50 (@poster above) -
DV50 is the 4:2:2 50Mb/s version of DV used by DVCPro 50 machines. DVCPro 50 uses 3.3 to one compression vs. 5:1 for normal DV25.
Those machines usually interface a computer with hardware SDI interface cards using uncompressed 8 or 10 bit 4:2:2 SMPTE 259M-C at 270 Mb/s. DVCPro 50 machines are 8 bit as I recall. Digital Betacam is 10bit.
I'm unaware of a DV50 file format for the computer. It would just be stored as uncompressed 4:2:2 CCIR-601 (ITU-R BT.601).. -
DivX might not be supported as it's not a standard codec used in editing -- it's more of a hobbyist's video collection codec. Check and see if they can take standard DV (DV25) which would be easier for you to convert to.
