  1. Hi everyone,

i'm new to this forum and playing with video in general
Guess i choose the right part of the forum huh?

    Anyway here's my question.

I downloaded a wmv clip online, rare, rather short (3.900ko) but of a poor quality.
Suspecting than converting from a format to another never make things better i wonder if there's a way to make improve the quality of that file.
Is there a software that could help or even a converting setting that would work?

    thanks in advance.

  2. The best you might be able to do is this:

    1) convert the WMV to AVI (tips in the convert section or if you get the MS XP Movie Maker Beta 2 you can convert it to DV AVI or use asftools).
    2) Load the AVI in Virtualdub and try applying filters to the video to try to clean it up. You will never achieve super quality but if there is noise or bad color you can compensate.
