Out of nowhere the GV-USB2 starts producing garbled, glitchy audio. No clear reason why. Doesn't matter which device driver, capture software, or operating system. See attached video but mind your ears.

It's now happened to me three times. I swap to another capture device, then months later it magically works again.

I’ve seen others report the same issue: https://x.com/Bismuthi/status/1427675844357640193

For something praised as a solid VHS capture device solution, this audio problem doesn’t get enough attention. Some say unplugging it overnight helps. In my case, not using it for months fixed it. So perhaps a hardware issue?

So has anyone actually found a real fix?

    - Switched back and forth between different drivers (old and new) on Windows 10 device, still same garbled audio
    - Tested on Windows 11 device between different drivers, still same garbled audio.

I've ordered a new I-O Data GV-USB2 from Japan which may take a few weeks. If the new device works without audio issues, then that pretty much confirms the audio crashouts are a hardware issue.

New device works perfectly. I went back to test the old device... it's now working perfectly.

I still believe this is a hardware issue, perhaps something to do with the audio crapping out over time with the hardware itself. (overheating?) I'll report back if the issue returns.
