Just to say I have noticed in the last few weeks I can not download anymore certain shows from stv player or itvx now here in the UK. I presume itv / stv have simply added some kind of DRM protection to these ?

A pretty reasonable assumption. The sites keep making changes to clamp down on their content, and the downloader apps need to continue updating and adjusting countermeasures to keep pace with this.Originally Posted by tvdownloaderfan

* more video quality (1080p, 1440p, 2160p)
* languages of the subtitles to download (can be regex) or "all" separated by commas, e.g.: ru,en.*
You can prefix the language code with a "-" to exclude it from the requested languages, e.g.: all,-ja

* "Write comment" (use "Write Metadata")
* MP4/M4A checkbox (this by default)

When clicking the download button in the program I get "youtube-dl not a valid windows application" or something like that. I am running WinXP Pro w/SP3, I thought the program worked with XP.

if i download a video from youtube clicking best or 1080p it will download but takes forever like hrs just to download 1 music video
fixed my problem now if i have mp4/m4a and native clicked it downloads fine now
so would this just be downloading the standard 1080p video or the enhanced bitrate one ?Last edited by jamespoo; 19th Jan 2025 at 17:13.

Afaik VTM and VRT are using DRM for a few years. Sites using DRM are not supported by this project.
