  4. stabbedbybrick, is it possible to have credentials for devine ALL4 and CTV be optional? Believe it or not, I still use freevine 0.6.2-beta from time to time (haha) and I can search and download on that without any credentials.

This is supposed to download an episode of the Hairy Bikers. URL works fine when entered directly into the browser. Also just specifying the episode ID didn't work

I had to specify the max_concurrent_downloads in my config file. If not specified the video/audio stream downloaded successfully but always errored out when trying to fetch the subs. Seems there is no default value assumed from what I saw quickly glancing over the code.

    Code:

In your devine.yaml, "wvds" should be all lowercase.

I honestly don't know what is causing the error.

All I can say is that I installed devine via "pip install devine" and what this does is install devine as an executable which is what I am running, and that works.

I see that in your error results, there is reference to "C:\devine\devine\core\service.py" which indicates that maybe you installed devine by downloading a zip file, doing a git clone, or something else similar. And because you are running devine as interpreted code, maybe one of your requirements is out of date. I can't say for sure if this is what is causing the issues, but all I can say is that I did an official pip install of devine and that seems to be working ok.

I followed iamghost post for installation from here.

    Indeed it used zip installation.
Followed all steps without any error until I executed channel 4 command.

Also how do I check the requirements are up to date?

Poetry should have handled all that for you. And I just did another fresh install, this time from official github repo (downloaded as zip) and installed via poetry and it worked just fine.

Hmm... the next message I get is "Service is not Geoblocked in your region" (which doesn't show on your output). So maybe your error has something to do with your IP address, VPN use (or lack of use) or proxy settings.

I don't really mind if you discuss Devine in here, but creating an official thread would probably be more helpful for users learning it for the first time.

Yes, it's needed since both the content and android API requires authorization. Freevine 0.6.2 parsed the episode data from the actual page instead of an API, and used a setting in the config for getting android streams. Which has since stopped working.

  22. It would be best to dedicate a new topic thread to "Devine". I will start one if no one else wants to launch one.

Back to Freevine; I am all up to date and every service I use as far as I know is working except PLUTO which is only giving me the option of descriptive audio or no audio as well. I don't know if it is just me as no one responded when I wrote about it. I was hoping to get some fresh movies off of Pluto TV at the beginning of April but I ran across that and found no use in downloading as descriptive audio isn't what I want and having no audio at all isn't my thing either.

achilles: I put "wvds" in lower case letters in the yaml but I got the same result as above that my Android CDM doesn't exists. Regardless I better stop discussing Devine here and I will wait a bit to see someone launch a thread dedicated to Devine and if they don't I will.

Also thank you achilles and everyone who has taken the time to guide me and I hope others learn along with me. I tend to be happy with smaller files like 480p and lately I have been getting some series from CTV at 360p to save on hard drive space and they look fine on a 24 inch TV.

It seems that Devine only has the capability to download very high quality files that my under 10 mbs DSL would take quite a while to download and if I do get it working and Freevine stops working these big files I will just encode down to a lower quality and smaller file size.

I think through time there will be more options in Devine and maybe they are already there.

  30. Right, but should you be in c:\devine\devine\ rather than c:\devine\ ?

If you want to be able to run it from other places, you'll need to put it in the PATH.

Is Python installed and working fine?

edit: how did you install it?
