  2. Thanks for the link. Down loading now.

You, know come to think about it, that ACER laptop with the HD620 is cheaper as a whole laptop then just the i7 iris 650 CPU by itself. I dont know if going from HD620 to Iris 650 is THAT big a difference ? Any thoughts about that?

This whole QS thing is fascinating. At least to me.

I'm not sure, I doubt the difference will be that much. I know speed-wise, intel claims 12x realtime ( 2 hour movie takes 10 minutes to encode) when encoding 1080p video with their 7th generation U processor line, but their datasheet is hard for me to understand in regards to what the difference between the just released u processors and the ones released a couple months ago, maybe you can make better sense of it:

  4. OK so i downloaded those clips.

i *THINK* i see a difference - but it could be placebo effect.

I think the QS version has a little less.....er....oomph to it, or less depth to the picture - but not much difference and certainly not for a 9" screen

    Yeah, its all interesting stuff.

I am not really able to use h65 yet because the nooks cant handle it,

Lets keep watching CES to see what comes out

All the fine grain is gone. That will lead to posterization in smooth gradients. And note that he's working at pretty high bitrates for re-encoded BD.
