  1. I'm stuck at the RTMPDump stage.

Is anyone using Windows 7 able to help me run the script? Is there an alternative?

  2. Hi and thanks for a response but which part of that post you linked to talks about rtmpdump and windows?

I linked you to use get_iplayer which works via rtmpdump! Post #73!

    But....
I tried for several days now to record athletic events, but itwas impossible, although I used ffmpeg , rtmpdump and Adobe HDS downloader -- theyworked for video links presented in different forums but not for this website.

The apparent problem seems to be the lack of specified fileformat or a different form of segmentation.

For the closing ceremony (http://www.eurovisionsports.tv/london2012/index.html?video_id=7824) the video link is http://culture-f.akamaihd.net/d19m01_1_700@s73516?primaryToken=1344992511_9a4b8b 6e95ab9407516281f058449ed3&v=1.1.12&fp=WIN%2011,3, 300,270&r=GHYKV&g=PKEFXIGFHSRU&primaryToken=?event =d19m01&seek=47543

Do you have any idea for this problem? This blog seems mylast hope J .
Those you mentioned are for recording specific type of streaming!
But this site is using simple Akamai HD HTTP Stream! You can use cache of Opera web browser! It works indeed!
But do you prefer 480p of this site or 720p of BBC or 1080p of NBC?
Have you managed to download videos from nbc? I've tried with flash downloaders addons, jdownloader, web console, wireshark, opera cache...

Oh thanks so much. That works really nicely!

Only problem is the FLV file has a ton of empty space after the recording finishes but I expect that is simple enough to fix.

  7. I'm trying to capture the Rhythmic Gymnastic Final in 720p which is located at...

    Code:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w3312
I've been able to download at 480p and can get RTMPdump to start the 720p stream using the code...

    Code:
    rtmpdump -r "rtmp://cp41752.edgefcs.net:1935/ondemand" -a "ondemand?auth=daEcUcPcecab9apaiarasd5asd6bucccIcy-bqlw.U-bWG-HpmFEpwoGBsEvwJ&aifp=v001&slist=secure/800kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296295.mp4;secure/480kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296281.mp4;secure/1500kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296315.mp4;secure/3200kbps/events/p00w36zy_1344699296329.mp4" -W "http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/releases/iplayer/revisions/617463_618125_4/617463_618125_4_emp.swf" -C O:1 -C O:0 -y "mp4:secure/3200kbps/events/p00w36zy_1344699296329.mp4" -o "720p.flv"
    However, as it's 3hrs 07m 30s it will be over 4GB.

I've tried get_iplayer, however, it can't get it to connect to a 720p steam

I'd absolutely love to have the final in 720p, so if anyone can help I'd be very appreciative.

  8. Do as I, split the competition in several parts. For example, add -A 0 and -B 800 to the code to download the second 0 to 900

    Where do I add "-A 0" and/or "-B 800" to the string I already have into RTMPdump ?

    Code:
    rtmpdump -r "rtmp://cp41752.edgefcs.net:1935/ondemand" -a "ondemand?auth=daEaEd0cXbMcJcMbGbBa5dIbOc0ctctbSdC-bqlzqh-bWG-BqnFJoEpKDvFpxJ&aifp=v001&slist=secure/480kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296281.mp4;secure/800kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296295.mp4;secure/1500kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296315.mp4;secure/3200kbps/events/p00w36zy_1344699296329.mp4" -W "http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/releases/iplayer/revisions/617463_618125_4/617463_618125_4_emp.swf" -C O:1 -C O:0 -y "mp4:secure/3200kbps/events/p00w36zy_1344699296329.mp4" -o "720p2.flv"
I managed to get just over 4gb so I have some. Can I start from where RTMPdump ended with an error

how come everyone seems to be able to download NBC videos and i am
    seemingly fraught with issues ?
i can't seem to sniff out any rtmp links for the NBC sites and RTMPdumphelper is not exactly helping

i am going to re-try the instructions.

    Sorry, trying to understand...

With the steam having failed at 9810.24 seconds... Will I need to redo the stream or can I enter a string to continue the steam from where it failed?

If it be best to create 2 flv files at 7200 seconds (2hrs) each

    1. What would the commands be?
    2. Do I type the 2nd command in after the first has finished?
    3. Do I have to give each a new filename, or will it add it to the existing one?

    Kind Regards Angelical_1

If your download fails at 9810.24, write the same code (you have to update the .xml):

    [QUOTE=karlinhosmg;2180519]
    Code:
    rtmpdump -r "rtmp://cp41752.edgefcs.net:1935/ondemand" -a "ondemand?auth=daEaEd0cXbMcJcMbGbBa5dIbOc0ctctbSdC-bqlzqh-bWG-BqnFJoEpKDvFpxJ&aifp=v001&slist=secure/480kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296281.mp4;secure/800kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296295.mp4;secure/1500kbps/MP/events/p00w36zy_1344699296315.mp4;secure/3200kbps/events/p00w36zy_1344699296329.mp4" -W "http://www.bbc.co.uk/emp/releases/iplayer/revisions/617463_618125_4/617463_618125_4_emp.swf" -C O:1 -C O:0 -y "mp4:secure/3200kbps/events/p00w36zy_1344699296329.mp4" -A "9810.24" -o "720p2.flv"
rtmpdump will download the same video but starting at 9810.24.

Yes, rename the new file. I tried some times to resume the download but always failed so you have to download the video in several parts

This is a great forum. Thanks to all the contributors!

I have found the get_iplayer to be the easiest method. However I have two problems with it:
    1. Even when it gets the flashhigh1 mode, the video is only 640x360.
    2. Not all events seem to provide the option of HDS and RTMP, some are HDS only (e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video/p00w2wq0)

Which lead me back to the AdobeHDS.php method. So to make the HDS download an easier task I have written a python script to sniff the network for the HDS manifest URL and alter it to use the high quality 3200kbps (1280x720) version. Then pass this manifest on to AdobeHDS.php which will do all of the heavy lifting (downloading the fragments and assembling into a .flv file).

I've only tested this on my Linux machine with PHP 5.x and Python 2.x. I see you are running Windows... it should work with Windows too.

There are some instructions for setting up PHP and AdobeHDS.php on Windows here:
    http://stream-recorder.com/forum/adobe-hds-downloader-t12074.html

You'll also need to install Python (grab a 2.x version):
    http://www.python.org/getit/

    WinPcap 4:
    http://www.winpcap.org/install/

    and the Python library pcapy:
    http://oss.coresecurity.com/projects/pcapy.html

Then you can just run my script as per the instruction (instructions are provided in the file header as comments).

I have found the get_iplayer to be the easiest method. However I have two problems with it:
    1. Even when it gets the flashhigh1 mode, the video is only 640x360.
Yes well that is to be expected, the flashhigh mode is only 640x360, you want either flashvhigh or flashhd, see thread post here.

Worked fine for me, see below:

Then pass this manifest on to AdobeHDS.php which will do all of the heavy lifting (downloading the fragments and assembling into a .flv file).

    See attached london_hds_get.zip
    Just use get_iplayer, much easier.

Yes all the videos I have downloaded are 1280x720. What's the problem you are having?

i think its connection issues, probably not get_iplayers' fault
it just take a few % then drop off.

is there a "-e" command to like like ffmpeg to make it resume?

To answer my own question in case it helps others it seems that if there is a file already in the download directory with the same name this error is produced.
