inlay datecode on AVCHD

I would like to inlay the date and time on AVCHD video on the bottom right of screen. DVDate worked great for AVI but does not work with AVCHD, any suggestions?

This did not work, it does not superimposes date and time on video. I also looked at "Visual AVCHD Time Stamp (vATS)"but this saves the file as .wmv not HD.

works for me , and others, look at the screenshots

it creates srt file which is a soft subtitle file

you need to install directvobsub for directshow players like wmp or mpc, or use a player that supports subtitles internally like vlc in order to "see" them

if you want to hardcode the subs (permanent overlay), then you need to re-encode it using subtitle filters - there are guides in the subtitle forum on how to do this. If you re-encode it you can choose any format you want. Re-encoding with a lossy format reduces quality

Yes I want to (permanent overlay) it into the video itself and would like to then burn it to Blueray or make a HD DVD. Is this possible using the subtitle filters your talking about.

yes it's possbile to hardsub any video using .srt subs. The guides show you how to do that.

you can use that .srt input into multiavchd (it will do everything for you , including author the disc structure for blu-ray , but not hd dvd - which is a defunct standard) , but i think that will only soft sub it , I can't recall if it has a hard subbing option

soft subs are a better option IMO , because you can turn them on/off at will and you lose no quality. The video isn't permanently defaced. Your original AVCHD files are blu-ray compatible as is., original quality

Hardsubbing requires you to re-encode it (lose qualilty/generation loss, and might take hours or days to re-encode it)

Yes it will, it has both hard and soft sub options , but you still need the srt file generated by avchd2srt
