    Hi all,
After successfully dubbing handycam film onto laptop, then again successfully extracting time/date using DV_DateCode - I am now having trouble dubbing that film with date/time onto DVD. I am using DVD Maker software and when I try to add it - it boots me out with 'close program'. I am using a Sony Vaio Laptop - Vista software. If anyone can help I sure would appreciate it.

When you add what ? The video, or the subtitle ?

    Hey guns1inger,
In DVD Maker it asks you to ADD the file you want to copy...when I do this the program closes.

I doubt that DV_datecode has done anything to the original file. If you have created an SRT subtitle file with DV_datecode then you could use something like AVStoDVD or DVD Flick to create the DVD instead.

I have not used DVD Maker, so I can't help you with that product, unfortunately.

Unfortunately the AVStoDVD or DVD Flick have not worked either....any other suggestions would be greatly received.

Mediainfo or G-spot the file and see what they say. It sounds like the file has become corrupted.

What errors do AVStoDVD and DVD Flick produce ?

You need to provide a whole lot more useful information if you want to get this fixed.

    Hey Guns1inger,
There is no problem with playing the footage with the date and time from DV_Date on the laptop - The problem now is that I cannot burn the footage date/time included to dvd

And again, what happened in the other two programs ? If they gave you error messages this may help point to the problem.

I would also like to see a mediainfo output just to confirm what you are working with.

There is a difference between a video that can be played back, and a video that can be re-encoded. Some players are designed to play back broken video, however the same video may not be suitable for encoding because it is broken.
