I am working on my first DVD and want to create an audio loop for my menu from the audio of the program I am burning. I am working with DVD-Lab. The mpg was split in to elemental streams so my audio file is an mpa.

I have a Ulead audio editor 7.0, but it keeps giving me the error "The file contains no audio data".

I tried using MP3Direct Cut tools section, but it just seemed to cumbersome to navigate. A litttle crude. All i want to do is take a tiny chunk of ambient sound and copy it enough to make ~30 seconds.

Am I going about this all wrong?

  2. Hi-

Since you're in NTSC land, maybe DVD-Lab is expecting either AC3 or WAV audio.

I really don't think that is it. DVD-Lab will accept the mpa's. In fact it created the mpa when it split the mpg from videoredo. I just can not take it to my audio editor and edit it to get an audio clip.

I think I will take the mpg in to the Ulead audio editor and see if it will read it.

  4. If you are using DVD-Lab to make your DVD, there is an option somewhere on the right hand side of the screen to make your menu loop, thus making your audio loop as well. You don't need to do anything to it other than make sure it is the same size as your menu background. I think you can make the menu loop to the size of either your audio or your video. Of course if you are using a still, you would loop the menu to you audio.
