Is it possible to record from VCR onto a DVD-R using PowerDVD or is it just for watching DVDs?

No You can't... You can do it with windvd recorder. There is a full functional trial.

Thanks. Where it says 'If you already have a DVD burner, you can start using WinDVD Recorder right away. Even if you don't have a DVD burner you can still record and archive your video onto your hard drive for later burning', does that mean I can only save to the hard drive and not burn to a CD, as my DVD Rom won't be a burner, will it?
