    hi, y'all!

I got the latest Nero version (Plus Nero Mpeg2 SVCD plugin) and every time I ADD an. avi track to burn the prog just shuts down on me I have Windows XP and a CD-RW that came with my Gateway system. It's 16x. Did anyone run into the same problem?

    Thanx a bunch.
I was told I have a photographic memory...too bad the cap is ON most of the time:(

  2. Does the same thing happen when you do avi to vcd? And does it do the same thing if you try to reencode a mpeg 1 file to SVCD. If it does I would upgrade to 5.5.9.9 and if it still does it, ask Nero to send you another copy of the SVCD plugin and reinstall everthing from scratch.

    BTO,

Thanks for the reply. It makes sence now - I just found out (through one of the tutorials here http://www.vcdhelp.com/forum/userguides/111846.php) that I need to convert the .avi fils to .mpeg2 first :P Thanks again!

  4. Thats funny cause I can use NERO to convert avi to svcd no problems as long as the avi will fit on to a 680-700 meg Disc.

The whole reason for the MPEG2 plugin is so you don't have to convert the file first. Maybe Nero doesn't like the codec used in the AVI file.

  6. OK at last something I can offer some advice on. I was running into the exact same problems you described. So on a hunch I uninstalled the NIMDO Codec pac totally and completely and NERO worked just fine. So I then reinstalled the NIMDO Codec pac and the problem reappeared. I was going to try installing certain modules to see which of the codecs was the cause but decided SCREW THAT. Its easier to get several files ready to burn and then uninstall the codecs and after the burn is done to reinstall them.

It seems stupid but it works

I remember a couple of selections in the Nimo codec pack that did/could cause problems, but the last time I installed them I guess I didn't install the bad ones - I've had no problems buring or playing any files in a long time. I guess the key is to only select (install) the codes you really think you'll need.
