ffmpeg version 4.2.4-1ubuntu0.1 Copyright (c) 2000-2020 the FFmpeg developers

My goal is to create a single 320x160 thumbnail from near the beginning of the mp4

    I create an mp4 from a webm as such: ffmpeg -i video.webm -fflags +genpts -r 25 input.mp4
The resulting mp4 plays fine in Windows Media player.

    Now googling, I found this command: ffmpeg -ss 5 -i input.mp4 -vframes 1 output.png

    But I get this error:
    root@broadcast:/var/www/html/uploads# ffmpeg -ss 5 -i input.mp4 -vframes 1 output.png

The MP4 duration is too short for -ss 5, you seek to the end, so get nothing
