  1. The m4v files are playable in several players and compatible with Adobe Encore.

I tried to use SolveigMM Video Splitter to join it but got the following error:

Can't perform this task. (Unspecified error hr=0x80004005).

Is there any other tool that can work?

    Thanks

mp4box and tsmuxer come to mind. I'm not 100% sure they'll work with m4v however. All you would need to do is demux it to .264 or .h264 to get the elemental streams and then a whole host of programs will work with it - assuming aac or mp3 audio but audio shouldn't be a problem for most muxing programs.

    Don't forget to give ffmpeg/winff a go.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. tsmuxer can take m4v but does not export m4v. It has to be ts/m2ts.

mp4box appears to mess up fps, even with -fps switch. The result file is consider non compliant by Encore.
