Hi, I am using DVD-Lab Pro to construct a DVD based on some videos made through a Kodak Digital Camera. I've combined and converted the videos from MOV to AVI using MP4Cam2AVI, then used divxtodvd to make AVIs into VOBs. I let DVD-Lab Pro demux the VOBs so I could construct the DVD. Each "date" of video is a separate title, consisting of several "glued-togther" MOVs. I've linked all the titles together in the "Connections" menu.

The problem is when I compile the DVD, it gets almost 99% done, then returns a couple errors like "the Size of run-length is over 1440 bits" or something like that.

Here's the weird part. If I compile with a menu having a link to only one of the titles, it compiles fine. If I have two, it throws the compilation error. I've tried several other variables, and it seems this is the only X-Factor. Is there a way around this? All the MOVs should have the same bitrate, and my assests menu says they all have framerates of 29.97

Instead of making VOBs try making mpeg2 videos and see if the problem persists.

You can use AVStoDVD to encode and output elementary streams instead of authoring. These streams will be DVD compliant and ready to use in DVD Lab Pro.

DivxtoDVD is ancient beta software. Toss it.

Also WAY too many steps involved in that process.

Okay, some of this worked. I used AVStoDVD to convert my MOVs to DVD. However, I'd really like to combine my MOVs into one title. Is there a way to do this using AVStoDVD, DVD-Lab Pro, or some other software?

I tried using the "join source files" functionality on AVStoDVD, but that returned the error, "Error Reading file, Cannot find C:/something/something/temp/AVSinfo.txt"

I've now tried MPG2CUT2 and a trial version of VideoReDo. MP2CUT2 didn't work--it did something funny to the file that DVD lab pro didn't like. VideoReDo did not work when I converted MOV to MPG2 and used the joiner. It gave me the same "runlength over 1440 bits" message.

I've tried AVISynth within VirtualDubMod, but it says "Splice: Framerate doesn't match." Even though it should. It returns the error: "The video streams have different sampling rates (24.03265 vs. 24.03276)".

You ca put your clips onto a single title in DVD Lab Pro, however you cannot put chapter stops into the title, other than at the join points.

Other tools that will let you combine clips into a single title and then author a DVD include DVD Flick and ConvertXtoDVD.

How do I join clips into a single title with DVD-Lab Pro? I've only ever been able to put them into separate titles. When I move a second clip into the same "movie", it overwrites with the new one.

I found out the problem with DVD-Lab Pro. I had a text link in the menu that was fairly long. It could not encode the subpicture, because it was too complex. Subpic is encoded using RLE algorithm and each compressed line cannot take more than 1440 bits (DVD specs limitation). When you add a link, the object you add the link to becomes part of the subpicture mask which needs to be RLE encoded. Apparently, it causes the RLE code for one or more of the lines passing through that object to exceed the maximum allowed length.

I reduced the number of characters in the text object, and the DVD compiled without error.
