We are in the process of launching our eLearning website which will contain video lectures. I am trying to find the best .vob to .flv converter and have so far tested 10 but none of them preserves the quality of the original .vob video.
After converting the file into .flv, viewing the file on full screen has very low quality unless playing it at about 75% smaller screen. Can anyone recommend a solution, regardless how large the destination file will be (but certainly not as large as the .vob). many thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

Convert to mp4 with h264 video instead and you will get very good quality. Its supported by flash. Use for example handbrake.

You can also put h264 video in flv but I don't know any simple method to that directly.

But what are you converting with? What settings? You can get VERY good quality with h264 video if you just use good converters and settings like high enough bitrate and resolution.

It might help if you told us what software you are using.

Increase the resolution to something like 640x480, higher video bitrate to around 1000kbps and framerate to 24 or 29.97fps depending on your source framerate(identify using mediainfo if you don't know). And if any quality settings change to highest.
