OK, I know I haven't seen much on these forums about actual production shooting, but I was audio tech today on a shoot using an HVX200 shooting to 720p 24fps onto P2 cards. I sent two channels of line level audio to the camera, as I do every day to various cameras, cause hey that's my job. I monitored return audio from the camera, of course, but noticed that when the cameraman started recording, I heard back a periodic beeping (about 3 beeps ever 2 seconds, so very common and constant). It ONLY happened during record, as if to notify that the card was being accessed. In Standby mode the return was clean.

I find this VERY disconcerting, especially since I checked some clips afterwards for playback and the beeping was there.

What is this? I have shot with this camera before and never experienced this, and it makes no sense because it appears to be a completely internal camera thing, nothing I could possibly fix. I am worried that the client will come back and say that the beeping is on the tracks even once they are off the P2 cards.

Does anyone know what this could be, and if it was just a playback thing or if it will actually be on the footage?

Thanks!
