    im not quite sure where this goes but im new plz bear with me i have searched and searched and have come up with no luck im usisng winavi converter to convert avi files to dvd format that goes well and is successfull then i use nero express 6 to burn to dvd the type of disk i have is verbatim digital movie dvd-r and it burns with no problems but when i try to play it in my panasonic dvd-s35
    the picture is there but it rolls like an old vhs tape sound is there and is great but idk why it rolls is it the type of disk ive read +r is better for movies and -r is better for data all help would be apreciated and thnx in advance

    Before burning to disc do the resultant DVD files play properly on your computer? You can usually just click on the VIDEO_TS.IFO or choose play from folder.

    Sounds like a PAL / NTSC problem to me...
    WinAVI sukz bad. Use convertx2dvd (or get a player that plays AVI without any conversion blues)

    yes the movie plays fine on my computer ill get covert2dvd and give it a try thnx alot

    Or as was posted set your app to output to whatever is right for you, NTSC or PAL.

    wel my player is region free so it shouldnt matter i tried NTSC first but i guess ill try another 5 hrs and do it in PAL

    Region is not the same as Format

    Do not encode it as PAL - that is your problem. Most DVD players sold in the US will not play PAL properly. Those that do rely on you also have a compatible television, which is also rare in the US.
