DUAL Image Copying with Nero - How ?

OK I have a sanyo HD1 camcorder (720p) I downconvert to DVD and then burn.

1 hours to a DVD

Anyway when it comes time to COPY these I found a more effecient way of doing it. instead of drive to drive I do same drive to same drive which causes nero to copy to the HARD DRIVE first and then burn it. this also speeds up subsequent burns if I want to do more than one.

They are far to large to "leave" images on the hard disk. I don't have the money for that many terabytes :-)

SO now I wanted to do 2 or 3 at the same time. SO I open 2 instances of nero and tell instance one to do X: to X: and instance two to do Y: to Y:

alas it fails on the first one goes because they are both trying to create the SAME IMAGE file (location and name)

IS there a way around this IE to make it create a unique image for for each instance of the program ?

Can I specify this image file ? if so Can I install Nero to 2 different folders and will they retain SEPERATE settings from each other ? I sometimes have to knock off 6 each of 5-7 DVD's and this would greatly speed things up and retain reliability. (Example when we went to cancun I recorded nearly 7 hours of video !! and I can only fit 1hour on a dvd so Depending on how the editing goes it will be 5 to 7 dvd's

I can not burn from the hard drive. that would take too much space. I burn the original MP4 from the camcorder to one DVD and the Downconversion to another DVD and the delete the file off the hard drive to make room for more video. to leave all 7 on the Hard Disk woukd consume nearly 30gig of space !!

Suggestions ? is there another DVD Burning program as good as Nero that will do the same thing ? same drive to same drive imaging to accomplish this ? I don't mind running seperate programs to get this done. I figure a seperate program will clearly use a seperate image file location and name.

I would prefer however to stick with nero.

I could install 4 drives but then I lose the reliability. if the "read" fails in image mode I only lose a little time and don't lose a toasted DVD-R disc.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I think NERO do a multi burn plugin .. this allows you to burn to more than recorder at the same time, no idea on price.

Use the following link and download the PDF file* that explains you step by step how to "write to multiple recorders": Create a data CD

With OEM versions you can only write to one recorder.
With Nero demo and retail versions you can write to four
recorders.
If you want to burn on more than 4 recorders at the same time, you can use one of our following products:

Nero 6 max. 7 recoders will support 7 writers
Nero 6 max. 32 recoders will support 32 writers

You should be easily able to double or treble the amount (time) you get on one DVD with a little tweaking of bitrates, also dont forget Dual layer discs are available everywhere.

Cancun Mexico. it was utterly amazing !! we are planning to go again the moment we can afford it ! The best vacation we ever had.

I don't want to tweak the bit rates since I then lose quality. ITs bad enough I have to downconvert to DVD since there is no way to play the mp4 HD content straight up without a computer (currently) and its also a pitty that sanyo chose to use AAC for audio NOTHING plays AAC with mp4 video that I have been able to find yet

the higher I keep the bitrate the better it will look AND the nicer and "upconvert" to HD will be handled when HD TV's become more common place (IE in the realm of affordable to us mere mortals

I know how to multiburn (its built into nero actually) but I am talking copying 2 or 3 DIFFERENT discs simultaneously using imge to drive first (increases reliability and gets 3 done at the same time)

FYI once divx dvd players get better I will just put it on the disc in 720p divx/xvid and be done with it. but currently none of the divx dvd players will do a video size that large (1280x720)
