Video Guy? More like "No Information Guy".

Provide more information if you want help. What exactly do you mean when you say you are "copying a DVD with Nero"? Either provide the details on exactly how you are doing this or you won't get help.

  3. Personally, I don't like Nero at all. I find that it takes way more resources than it should to do simple tasks. For example, installing it on my computer will probably take ten minutes and consume the vast majority of my CPU. Why? Who knows.

On my last computer, writing a simple data disk used up 100% of my cpu (okay, so that cpu sucked, but it still shouldn't take everything I have to burn a cd), while Sonic RecordNow! 7 used less than 1% to accomplish the same task. Nero show time couldn't even play a dvd without massive lagging, while Media Player Classic used only ~50%. I have moved on the the much superior IMGBurn (and a better computer).

Nero just seems to suck the heck out of your computer, much more than it should. I once downloaded Nero BurnLite 10, and found that the installation file was a huge download, forced me to restart, installed a useless toolbar without giving me the option to install without it, and could only make copies of CDs. Everything else I tried resulted in Nero giving me a message telling me that something like "in order to use this feature, you must buy the full version". What a piece of garb!

  4. I have my own personal DVD, for me, nothing illegal.
I just can't figure out why it takes 1 hour to copy a 47 minute DVD using Nero, when it took only 12 minutes or so, before, using Nero, to make a copy of any other DVD. No copy guard, etc.
I will try DVD shrink, next time, see if that works, better.
Now, I just used DVD shrink, and that is fine, so I will use it.

  5. Could it be that Nero is re-encoding your video instead of just copying it as is? (activating the Recode program for instance), yes, youŽll be happier using DVDShrink or DVDRebuilder (if you feel Shrink doesnŽt give you the best quality)

  6. Did you check the DMA status of your DVD recorder when you used Nero?
