I know Nero Burning Rom 6.0 has the capability to convert mp3 to audio files. What about the reverse? I have an audio cd and I want to rip it to convert to mp3. Can I use Nero Burning Rom 6.0?

EAC just rips to MP3 and it doesn't have much effect on the quality of the MP3,apart from that it can rip slightly scratched/defective CD's successfully and near "Exact" using its re-reading capabilities and offsets ect...The quality of the MP3 depends on the codec and settings.EAC is no doubt the best audio CD ripper you can get.

MP3 using the Lame MP3 codec (GET v3.97 NOT alpha versions unless you want to test)to encode, kicks WMA ass.The quality is very good as the Lame developers have continuously improved it over the years.

Look here for a simple tutorial to get you started.

 for the command line settings.

If you have other formats which you wish to convert to MP3 using Lame then try foobar2000 which is an audio player which can also convert formats or even easier (But you need to pay!) dBpowerAMP Music Converter~Luke~

Did you look in the "Options"->"Settings" menu selection? There's an "Encoder" tab that should be what you are looking for.

(Sometimes you just gotta take some time and poke around a bit ) )

To rip tracks to MP3, pick your tracks and pick the button on the right that states "Extract CD Track(s) to Compressed Audio File(s)."If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

It doesnt matter if I set the quality to low, standard or high does it? Cuz either way, I have to set the bitrate myself.Originally Posted by Ai Haibara

What is the version (MPEG 1 or MPEG2?)

When you are in the "Encoder" tab, click the "Help" button. Then select "Settings for Lame MP3/Blade DLL/Internal MP3 encoder:"

Explainations of the "Quality" and "MPEG-I/II" settings are there.
