As some of the conversion methods seem a little long and expensive... I got SUPER... which is free but they do not support VP6 codec. Is there a way to change the VP6 codec to flv or something?
    aha?

You have an swf or a flv file?
Gabest's flvsplitter supports vp62. You would have to extract the flv from the swf first though.

I have swf files, that have VP6 codec. I questioned SUPER as why my swf files wouldn't convert and it's because I had VP6 codec in my videos the guy said, and they dont support that yet. So I need to change the codec to FLV he said...

I'm not sure if it would matter if it was Sorenson Spark or VP62, I don't think SUPER would handle swf files at all. Only flv files. If it did handle swf's then it would probably be using Macromedia/Adobe's flash files to decode and it wouldn't matter if it contained vp62, spark, jpg's, vector graphics, layers or whatever.

Perhaps that is what they were talking about. Neither swf or flv are codecs though. flv is a container and I guess swf is to some degree to. A lot more advanced then just simple audio and video though.

flv files can use Sorenson Spark or VP62 for video. VP62 can cause problems for some converters since they rely of ffmpeg which can only handle Spark (H.263 based). Problem with SSpark is that it looks like crap compared to VP62. I mean they did update for a reason.

As far as I can recall, SUPER does allow .SWF files as input, but will stop with an error if it doesn't contain an FLV video stream.

(preferably save flash as that's what i am using) and succesfully convert it using macromedia flash MX (or another program that is free or has a trial) and tell me the EXACT steps that'd be awesome

Flash can export to avi, it won't render properly though and you would need to convert to swa. You need a proper swf converter. There are no flv files in that swf. Even the TV static is just images.

So? Am i trying to accomplish the impossible? Or can someone tell me the exact Macromedia Flash MX steps to convert the file into SWA. And when i convert to SWA can i then succesfully convert it to any other format? Because i want to put these files on my Zen Vision M as it is the main task...

(If you liked that movie you should see the sequals, they're alot more humorous :P)

Flash can't convert swf files back to swa's. Also as I said when you export to avi in flash it won't render properly. There are plenty of apps out there that can convert swf files to avi, mpg, etc.

Sure, but you may need the commercial/shareware SWF-to-AVI programs for good results (unless you're prepared for a bit of work). My sister and I have only tried some of the freeware ones, and they might make you believe (IMHO) that it's just a lot easier to simply use a capture program and capture the SWF while it's playing, then save the result to an AVI.

I can't personally recommend any of them. So unless someone else has a recommendation, you are just going to have to start trying them.

I never suggested that you buy anything. I suggested that you try them, then if you feel like it buy the best one.

Shareware is a marketing method for software, whereby a trial version is distributed in advance and without payment, as is common for proprietary software. Shareware software is typically obtained free of charge, either by downloading from the internet or on magazine cover-disks. A user tries out the program, and thus shareware has also been known as 'try before you buy', demoware, trialware and by many other names. A shareware program is accompanied by a request for payment, and the software's distribution license often requires such a payment. Payment is often required once a set period of time has elapsed after installation. The term shareware was coined by Bob Wallace to describe his word processor PC-Write in the mid-1980s.
