I've got some files I'm trying to author to DVD and I'm getting really bad A/V sync problems. The files are MPGs in DVD compliant format and I've tried allowing it to demux the audio as well as just running it straight but it doesn't make a difference. The sync is fine in the original MPG file. When you try to watch the DVD, the audio runs fine, but the video gets ahead, then freezes until the audio catches up making a very jerky program.

Any ideas? I've tried looking through the forums and guides and haven't come up with anything. Thanks.

  2. I do not have the solution, however, you are not alone. I had the same problem. with DVDLab Pro 1.53. The audio was encoded in AC3. I had to redo the project in Adobe Encore.

Would like to also know if there are any solutions for this problem.

Generally it points to quality issues with the source material. Did you create the source yourself (i.e. do the encoding of the video and audio) ? If so, what tools did you use ? If not, where is it sourced from (i.e. commercial DVD, downloaded from reputable source) ?

  4. The source was from DV tape. Video was encoded using TMPGEnc Plus and audio was converted to AC3 using the ffmpegGUI at 192Kb. Both Audio and video was in sync before the conversion. Even the encoded video and wav audio from TMPGEnc Plus was in sync . Once I converted the audio to AC3 it became out of sync.

That's pretty much the same for me. Converted using TMPGEnc and everything was in sync, run it through DVDLab and away it goes. I tried authoring it through TMPGEnc DVD Author and had no problem so it's something in DVDLab that's causing the sync problems.

Note: I can author this file with TMPGEnc DVD Author and Ulead's DVD Workshop with no problem whatsoever, but DVDLab Pro has a major problem with it. Everything renders perfectly through GSpot and the original and converted file play fine, so it's got to be something with DVDLab Pro.

If only DVD Workshop was stable under XP, I'd just use that because it does what I want it to do, I just got sick of spending 20 minutes setting up a DVD, then having the program just... end without warning.
