the only program that can capture video from my cam (jvc) is imagemixer (i have 1.7 ver), but the video resolution after capturing is very low 320x240. how can i capture with better res.?

So the JVC cam is DV?
Your Windows machine should work fine and capture at full resolution.
Try some of the capture tools available from this site.
WinDV should capture at full resolution.
Scenalyzer Live should work also. -
I'm assuming it's a digital8 or mini DV cam and your using the USB cable? The USB cable is for web quality video only on nearly every cam.
Get a firewire (AKA 1394 or I-link) cable, you can capture at the fullest resolution using nearly any capture program. It's not actually a capture but a transfer, simialr to copying a file from the cam to computer.
Edit: BTW if it's a digital still camera with video capability you need to increse the resolution in the menu on the camera. Most don't go above 640x480. -
Also, if it is a DV cam and you are playing back with Windows Media PLayer, make sure the performance settings are set to high for Digital Video, or it will look like 320x240 on playback, even if it is full D1 res.
