I would start with trying a different media to rule out the Prodisc blanks. If that still fails, uninstall DVD Decrypter, reboot, reinstall and try again. If that still fails, try burning with another program. Still no luck, think hardware.

ok I brought more new blanks. prodisc 8X silver inkjet printables. Never had a problem with them before. Every 4 or five burns, it hangs and I need to reboot since the hitting the eject doesnt help. DVDDecrypter keeps saying, patience I heard you he first time, but it takes too long and then I have to force reboot. Any other suggestions? I now have the Benq DW1640 plus my DW1620 burners. Thanks to all

Possibly firmware on your burner has become corrupted ?

Laser might be on the way out ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. Have you tried another burn app. such as Nero?
    Do the DVD's play ok?
How do you have the drives setup on your PC?
If all writers are having the same problem it's unlikely the problem is firmware,I would:
1.Make sure both drives are set to DMA.
    2.Reinstall the IDE drivers(eg Intel,SiS,VIA).
3.If both are on same IDE cable then install a new IDE cable.
4.Set drives jumpers to Master or Slave, don't use CS.

Have you tried another burn app. such as Nero? Dont like Nero, but I use clonedvd2 and it happens also.
Do the DVD's play ok? yes
How do you have the drives setup on your PC? the Benq DW1640 as master and Benq DW1620 Pro as slave
If all writers are having the same problem it's unlikely the problem is firmware,I would: Yes both drivers having problem.
1.Make sure both drives are set to DMA. Checked an both are.
2.Reinstall the IDE drivers(eg Intel,SiS,VIA). How do I do this???
3.If both are on same IDE cable then install a new IDE cable.
4.Set drives jumpers to Master or Slave, don't use CS. one is set for master and the other for slave

Thank you for trying to help..

Last week I changed the drivers letters from O, P to D & E, to go in alpha order. Could this be causing my problems?

  10. I know this isn't helping you in anyway but DVDDecrypter is an extremely reliable tool and it isnt the program that is causing your problem.(As you already stated, you used CloneDVD)
IMO DVDDecrypter is even more reliable than CloneDVD

Sorry,it is an odd problem you have, wish I could help.
