  1. Dear All.

In short i want to watch movies on my Epson P2000 (Portable harddrive player).

I have ripped dvds to my harddive using DVDdecyptor.
I then used Dr Divx to convert to AVI.
The files play very well if I play the clip from the beginning.

However if I seek through the clip and then play, the audio goes out of sync by about 5 - 7 seconds.

    Is there any solution?

I am complete newbie with a very simple mind so please type slowly.

    Thanks

    Josh

I'll show you my method; maybe it will work for you.

    Rip VOBs with DVD Decrypter.
Combine VOBs into a single MPEG-2 with VideoReDo
Open the MPEG-2 in VirtualDubMod, then save as DIVX

This is probably more complex than it needs to be, but in all my experimenting it's the method that's produced the best results.

  3. Thanks.

Will this get over my issue of out of sync audio if I seek forward or back whilst playing a avi file back on the P2000?

When I seek back and forward when playing the file on my PC there are no problems.

    Thanks

    Josh

Could not locate decompressor for format dvsd (unknown)
virtualdub requires a video for windows (vfw) compatabile codec to decompress video. Direct show codec, such as those used by windows media player, are not suitable only "direct stream copy" is available
    for this video
