I've captured and converted the first part of Steambath. I captured 640x480 as that was the best VirtualDub offered, and now as I convert with TMPG SVCD wants 480x480 which is not possible to keep the proper aspect ratio. What do I need to do? I've burned it anyway and it plays perfectly but I'm not sure of the compatibilty accross Stand-Alones.

Hi.
You can resize your captured video by using the resize filters in VDub and frameserving to tmpgenc.
Or you can use VDub to capture in 480x480 (go to "Video/Set Custom Format" or press shift-F.
I capture a lot from VHS. If thatīs your case, I recommend capturing in 480x480 and then processing with CinemaCraft Encoder. Actually, I would recommend CCE over tmpgenc anyway, as it is much faster and produces (for me) better results in SVCD.

I will definately try this now, as I've (until now) haven't been able to figure out how to get VDub to capture a custom format.
I tried CCE, but didn't have/don't have the program, or FAQ to lead me to the program to join them back again.
Can you point me in the right direction? You can E-Mail direct if you wish.
