i am trying to convert divx and xvid into dvd files but i am having problems

i am using the guide by baldrick

i have installed all the correct progs that go with this version in the guide

in the diko prog you go to configuration work your way through using his guide , when you have done everything and try to go to the next stage i get
ERROR SAMPLE SIZE FACTOR MUST BE GREATER THAN !!! SMALLER THAN !!! BUT MINE READS 0.000 AND YOU CANT CHANGE IT ITS BLOCKED OUT

does anyone else use d i k o that can help or can anyone suggest different progs that can convert divx , xvid , vcd , svcd , into dvd files so i can burn to dvd that will work on any dvd player
