I want to convert an avi to dvd using DIKO, I get the error message AVI synth script open failed. This occurs as the program tries to encode video. Has anybody else had this problem.

    Peace

Once again you are the man, Baldrick. Thanks.

I see the GUI runs quenc and HC. Which do you think is the better encoder?

I have been using DIKO with Freenc for framerate conversions and have never had the jumpy playback syndrome with it.

Hope one of these does the job as well as Freenc.

Again thanks Baldrick I'm encoding with QuEnc as I type. I will post back with the results when I've tested FAVC a couple of times.

    Peace

HC is very very good. I think it's close to CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder) quality. Never used quenc as I've been so pleased with HC.

They're both really good. At a high enough bitrate, it would be tough to tell the difference. Quenc is faster, HC probably beats in in most cases in quality, but takes longer to encode.
