OK, I just opened an account at my local rental store so I could rent DVDs and make copies of them for me and my friends.
I rented The Personal Story of Jack Valenti and ripped all four DVDs to my hard drive. I used DVD Shrink to shrink them down so that the entire collection would fit on one disc, but when I authored the disc, the picture quality was horrible, and it won't play on my DVD player! I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I let DVD Shrink do a 'Deep Analysis' on each pass, and I purchased only the best media I could find.
Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong?
These are the discs I purchased.
Thanks in advance!![]()

You're not doing anything wrong. I back up movies like that all the time and it always works for me. Maybe try fitting more movies on one disc, then it should work properly.

This looks like macroblocking to me. How do I get rid of it? -

i watched star trek and only data and seven-of-9 can properly fix a plasma ...

Ok Indolikaa,
I've been watching this "tom-foolery" for too long now. I'm going to start straightening some things out on this site and that equally illegal www.kvcd.net site. Programs like DVDShrink and the like have cost our actors and actresses millions of dollars in lost revenue. They're practically starving. I am planning to crack down on sites selling blank media as well. The mere thought of being able to record anything reeks of illegality. Like I said before, if you want a backup copy, but another disk. They are getting cheaper and cheaper every day. -

Mr. Valenti, I am looking for help in this authoring problem. If you don't have any advice to give, please do not waste my valuable time. -

I wonder if Mr. Jack Valenti is actually Indolikaa and he's having a heated arguement with himself.

Like due process, for instance.
Until then, you might find it more prudent to work on that Collector's Edition DVD of Smokey and the Bandit rather than engage the likes of me and my 'Post Whore Posse' in this public forum. -

I wish I had thought of the Jack handle...that is a good one -
Okay Indo. I'm going to help you out with this whole thing, even Mr. Valenti. First, you state that you are only doing this for a student project for a video project and plan to destroy the disc once you get your A+ and move on to the next project. The next thing is to get some top quality media and burn 4 discs like the originals so you have good copies to go back to in case your HD gets toasted. Then try the revised compression or authoring on the new media and see if that works when converting to one disc. If not, Add a couple more coasters to you cupboard and go back to the drawing board.
For Mr. Valenti: We promise to set Indo straight and move him in the proper direction away from his illegal pirating ways. We know Indo has gotten bad influence of midget clown and plastic goat f**king from many of the member's here. There are even bad influences of ugly old german Ho's and ready mix gravy packets that also have contributed to his corruption. Please excuse these horrible influences that have led him down a dark path and we will also excuse the brown cucumber in your a** along with the Orrin Hatch growth sucking on your 3". The part we cannot excuse is that you are not helping this thread any and are not following the guides of the forum. Even though you have a metal plate in your head and you wrote your response with the microwave going, we do not tolerate such negative remarks unless it's coming from veteran post whores that have been adopted to proper Red Wing associations. With this note, I blue dart in your direction with a little bit of runner down the leg for show. -
Indo...when you get this figured out...can you upload the ISO's so we can all download and burn them too?

I can't believe that nobody has ripped this guy for taking about making backups of rentals. Have the rules changed are what.
