Please let me take this opportunity to address those of the French-Canadian breed and offer the following words of solace and reflection...

You could slur the French-Canadians or French all day and I would probably join in. My French heritage is something I've denied all my life, and I despise the French with a red-hot passion. The only saving grace is the Canadian part of my genes. Canada is not France ...well, besides Quebec that is. :P

As far as the whole canadian bashing goes....I personally don't think to much of Canada. It is good fishing, but other than that....I haven't found much of a use for it. And on the Hockey deal....didn't Tampa Bay Lightning win the Stanley Cup? The southern most team in the NHL? Canadiens proud NOT to be Americans?? Good, we are happy you're not too.
