  1. Hi all. I recently got myself a DVICO Fusion MPEG2 card and it captures nicely with great AV sync when playing the mpeg on Power DVD player. However when I convert the mpeg to VOB files the audio sync is out for some reason. I've tried with Ulead Video Studio 7 which has an inbuilt DVD authoring program and tried it with Power Producer as well, same results. I'm worried that these programs are rejecting any mpeg I capture from the Fusion card as also Win Media Player 9 and Real Player give error messages when I play mpegs captured from the card.

I'm looking for a decent freeware MPEG-DVD converter that will do the job good or I'm after a program that will split the audio and video as I might be able to get them syncing good when re-combined in DVD format. If anyone can help me I'd most appreciate it.

    Cheers

I had this same problem with teh caps from my Hauppauge card. Teh program VideoReDo has a "Quikstream Fix" option that rewrites the GOP sequence of the MPEG (when an MPEG has a bad or damaged GOP sequence, this causes the sync error in authoring). I'd highly recommend that program to you. It also does excellent editing of MPEG caps, like removing commercials.
