And you ******* adults dont help either. I have a friend where his mom lets him drink and watch porn. Remember hes 14. Anyways this is sorta a reminder to all you idiots to stop doin stupid shit. If you want a rush go skydive or somthing.

Sure, Alcohol and cigarettes (and even marijuana, to a lesser extent) aren't the best for you, but it's my body. I'll put into it (and release from it) whatever "drugs" I want.
Show me the last person who died from od'ing on marijuana.
I started all this when I was about your age as well... and I think I turned out alright.
Didn't I?..............
You just have to be smart about it. 14 is perhaps a tad young to start, but 16, 18... it's gonna happen. Better to talk to your kids or even make sure they are in a controlled environment then let them run rampant. My best friends parents let us drink at their place all through highschool. They were smart enough to realize we were going to do it anyway, so they made sure they could keep an eye on us. Never drove home or got alcohol poisoning, etc.
Just be smart about it, 'tis all. You do a lot of legal stuff every day that is more dangerous then those three substances I talked about. -
being smart about it is not doing it at all. Ive herd that my body crap lots of times......

Actually, I want people to start doing MORE stupid shit! The planet is over populated now, if we can get many more people to do things that will get them killed (preferably before they breed
), then maybe we (as humans) can finally start to raise the average IQ (by attrition)
I say, let the common idiot DIE!Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -

Sounds like you have too much time on your hands getting offended by shit that doesn't really matter. Weed doesn't do half the damage a Big Mac, supersized fries, and shake, does to your body if you ask me. As for porn, and drinking at home, your friends mom probably thinks "Better at home where I can know he is safe, than out somewhere where he'll hop into a car and get himself killed"
The media over-blows what shit like weed does to your body, and young, very influencial people (14 year olds like yourself) are easily scared into believing that have 1 joint is gonna ruin the rest of your life...get a life, have a joint!!
edit. As for watching porn, let the kid get it out of his system now so that when he's an adult, he doesn't turn into a porn freak!! (Like some of us)

actually i dont care that the kid is watching porn, but are you saying that people such as my friends dont concern me? If they die it might just affect me. For the rest of the world fine, go ******* kill yourself.

That's your typical 14 year old, either too smart by half, "you" adults are to blame, either for trying to stop them from something that may be either illegal or just bad for them, or not giving a damn that they are doing it.
The "best friend's" parents, in the US, would have been thrown in jail had the cops known they were feeding him and his pals booze. Thy're not of legal age in a bar, they're not of legal age in their homes.
This shit comes from those cutesy ads about "you're gonna have to stop me from doing this", or the ones where the parent asks all the questions and the kid is an angel, just because the parent is "involved".
Something DOES happen down the road, "I didn't know", or I don't believe", or "He never did that".
Some kids DO connive to keep their parents fat, dumb and happy. Some get away with it, and some parents like it that way.
And, Beaver, some pot or something is better than all those fat laden McDs goodies? Where the hell do you health freaks keep your heads? You think you should eat lettuce, lose the pointy teeth. They're the ones that indicate we are at least omnivores, if not downright carnivores. Not too many "normal" people will pick up a carrot if there's a steak or chop as an alternative.
And meat eaters having lower Chol...hi..lo..etc..and losing weight and keeping it off, and the raving medicos who are crying that it goes against 50 years of brainwashing, and now "We seem to have been wrong all along", and Vegans having vitamin/mineral deficiencies from a "Stupid" (my term ) diet......and on and on..
Back off on this preaching when the kid thinks he should be allowed booze and drugs "at home", because, "at least we can control it, here.".
This kid will be surprised by how much his "stupid" parents have learned when he hits about 25 or 30.
Cheers,
George -

Most kids don't drink or do drugs or smoke before the age of 12...why, because their parents are on top of it, the kid's social group is limited time wise and with what they can do, since they need parents to take them everywhere. Also at age 12 and below, "extended" behavior in not acceptable because fewer children have the opportunity to share the experience. From age 13 on however, more time is spent with friends and in social settings than under the watchful eye of supervision. And at this stage, the behavior of an individual is based on the accepted behavior for the group in general.
Oh, I know some kids start drinking and smoking and doing other things before the age of 12 but those are exceptions rather than the rule. Have you noticed that your school probably has "cliques" (read clicks) smaller groups of students...I teach at a large high school our culture is such that all the athletes are in a group, the gay kids are in their own group, the skateboarders, the goth kids...etc, etc. There is a reason why you don't see a gothic kid hanging around with the athlete kids and vice versa...because in both of those groups the other behavior is not acceptable to the group. When is the last time you saw one of your dope smokin porn friends go to a FCA meeting? (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)...I can field that one...never...why? Because smokin weed and watching porn is not something that kids in that group are going to think is cool.
Your posts are proof of that...either your friends think using that degree of profanity is cool or you think you will gain more notice from adults by choosing those words to express yourself.
The reason for so many groups is so that all kids have friends to share similar likes and dislikes with. Have you ever seen the Dave Chappelle skit where he is "Grigsby"...he's a blind black man, who doesn't know he's black and he's heavily involved in the KKK. What makes the skit funny (other than it's Dave Chappelle) is that you see a black man saying all the stereo-typical racist comments about blacks. The same type of thing could be done with any 2 radically opposite social groups.
In any event, let me get this straight, you have some drug infested friends who watch porn and you want them to stop but you blame society for it?
Well since they are your friends, why don't you try changing what is socially acceptable behavior in your group of peers?
Also, since you are friends with these types of kids, you yourself are identified as doing the things they do. I realize that is not right...but that's how it is.
If you see a straight guy hanging out everyday with 3-4 known gay guys, people will naturally assume he's gay too. My wife has a gay friend, her gay friend is one of maybe 5 women in the little circle of friends, when they all go out guys try to pick the gay friend up because they assume based on her friends that she is straight...my wife and I have went out to eat with her and her girlfriend and by me being there, guys ask both of them out because with me being there with my wife, they assume the other 2 women are straight also...(or that I am just a chick magnet)
Finally the last thing that needs to be done to get your friends straightened out, is they have to want to change. If they don't want to change then they aren't going to. I have a friend who is 44 years old, he has tried and tried to quit smoking, tried to lose weight (6'0 320 lbs)....about a 2 months ago he had a heart attack, required triple bypass surgery...guess what, he quit smoking that day, and now 6 weeks out of the hospital he's down to 250 lbs, runs everyday, eats right....see it was just lack of motivation. You see 1000's of women who "WANT" to lose weight...who "TRY" to lose weight....and can't. That's bullshit. Any one who wants to lose weight can lose weight. It's not rocket science, your body stores calories it doesn't burn for energy. So you intake the calories you need rather than the calories you want. It doesn't require 55 gallons of gas to drive 2 miles. Besides, I know wrestlers who cut weight everyday. I coach at a school where our wrestling team is a national power...our 215 lb wrester weighed 245 lbs and cut 30 lbs. It can be done with the proper motivation. Any one wanting to lose weight just need to find a wrestler and do what they do to cut weight and the weight will come off. Ever see a drawing of a fat caveman? Have you ever seen the discovery channel when they visit tribes? Don't see too many over weight folks there do you? In the USA anyway, eating is not only a basic need, it's a hobby for some.
And in the end, if they don't want to change then you just have to let them do what they do and move on. Find new friends, which sounds like the direction you'll be heading incidently. If they are doing those things and you are not, that's good, you shouldn't but eventually you will be the one feeling left out and no one likes that feeling, so one of 2 things will happen, either you will join their ways or you will stand up for what you think is right, even if that means standing alone. How do you think they got started in the first place? They were the ones left out and in order to fit in they joined in.
For me anyway, I do what I want to do...I always have. If I went out drinking on a friday night, it was because I wanted to. I have never experienced peer pressure. I think it was the way I was raised and my fathers outright refusal to accept an "excuse" for anything. 2 things were very clear to me growing up...#1 don't lie, #2 if I did it, it was my fault...PERIOD!!!
Bottom line is kid, you only have control over one person....yourself. I think it's noble of you to try to save your friends, keep working on them as long as you wish but in the end, they are only going to change if they want to and like I said, you will eventually join them or move on without them....I teach in large high school, I see it everyday. -
LOL, yea, sorry about that. I didn't realize how long it was until I posted it. I type really fast.
Besides, he's a confused kid. 14 is a tough age. All the girls your age are trying to date 16's, you can't exactly date a 12 year old at 14, trying to grow up and understand behavior.
Besides that's my one good deed for this year....now I'm free to rape, pillage and plunder (figuritively speaking of course) -
aaah, who isnt confused at a young age. its up to the parents to beat the sense in to em.

Few quick points;
If you don't do things that your friends do, get new friends. I had a similar experience and now rarely hang out with the old friends.
Darwinism gets rid of stupid people.
Your right to do whatever to your body stops when it interferes with another persons right. -

But seriously, what did everyone expect from the "time out" lets talk about it form of discipline is now in fashion? Seems to me that just about everyone from about 30 years old and up got their ass beat for doing stupid stuff...I know I did...hell, it was damn near scheduled...if it's not broke don't fix it. I sometimes wonder how many kids were out drinking and driving, or vandalizing things or general 2004 trouble issues back in the 50's...I bet not many, because their actions actually carried ramifications, now a days their actions carry conversation. It's pathetic. -
i dont buy the im a single parent thing. if you have a kid, take care of your kid. some parents are lazy and just dont care, like they should have never had kids in the first place. when i walk into a store and your kid is cryin and throwin a fit all over the place you better smack em or im gonna smack em for u, ya know.
i dont personally have any kids, but my sister has 3 boys. when i visit, the first day its like who the hell are you i dont have to listen to you. well by the second day im on vaction visiting i dont even have to say anything, just a look(ya know the one, boy im two seconds from turnin your ass red look).
bottom line is alot of parents dont even care these days, dont want to put any effort into parenting at all. im not even the parent and i put some effort towards my nephews. so my question is, why did you have your kids in the first place if you really dont give a shit about them. -
so was i right or wrong? I have too much alcohol in my system to know right now.

gooberguy, if you truly value your friends you shouldn't judge them so harshly. Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. If the bad outweighs the good then simply move on.

I think you are about 99% right! Kids today are no longer expected to be kids, and at 14 you and your friends are just kids. As far as others saying "Oh well thry're going to do it anyway" thats a cop-out.
The parents of these kids are either missguided or just don't care. Often the loving this is to say "NO". I just hope you know how well you've got it. Just don't be to judgmental about your friends because mostlikely its their parents that need their asses kicked.
