I am not sure if this is normal. TMPGENC shows that it will take around 50 hours to convert a 692 MB AVI file and a 1.13 GB WAV file into an MPEG file.

Depends on your CPU and the settings in TMPGEnc, particularily.....What resolution mpeg, motion search precision level, rate control mode (VBR, CBR, CQ) and most importantly if you have selected any filtering.
Oh..and VBR audio in the avi sometimes causes high conversion time estimates. Convert the audio to wav and use that as the audio input for better estimates."Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -
I found out it was (2) filters that were causing this. I unchecked them and now it will take around 3 hours.
