  1. I have been trying to author 5hr video on one dvd. When i use dvdlab, the resuling dvd's audio is waaaaay out of synch. When i author the same file with MovieFactory2, the resulting dvd's audio is in synch but the chapter points do not go to the correct spot in the film. Ulead has verified this problem and is suposibly working on a patch.

Can someone tell me if they have had luck with puting 5+ hr on one dvd using dvdlab? Or can you verify that this is infact a limitation in dvdlab and maybe someone in the know be able to tell me if this can be fixed?

    Thx,
    Rod

So how big is the movie file ?

Did you let DVDlab demux the file or use as is ?
Is is NTSC Film with AC3 audio ?

  3. I have dmuxed it and i have left it as is. The file is an mpeg2 with mpeg audio at 224. I have the video set to 1500/1800max. The resulting file size is 4.1GB.

The file is made directly from my Hauppauge PVR-250 which has a hardware encoder. I have no problems with 2.5hr videos captured at 2000+ bitrates.

The comment about the chapter points in MF2 makes me suspect
the video is Soft Telecined NTSC Film. That confuses quite a few
programs. I have not checked DVDlab on it yet so i dunno.

Can the Hauppage do on the fly IVTC ? and if so is it ?

    That's a pretty low bitrate

IVTC is undoing what is done to make 24 fps movies play at 30 fps
The result is 24 fps with secret instructions to decoders to play it back at 30

If a particular program doesn't account for the secret instructions an
incorrect frame rate will be assumed and there will be audio/Video
    sync problems.

If your capture system is doing an IVTC you should disable it .

Did you encode your audio with moviefactory. I had a similar problem. Try to extract a wave file and use toolame with toolame gui to encode your audio from a wave to mp2. Then use this audio.

  9. No, i used the Hauppauge WinTV 2000 that came with the capture card.

I dont know if this is a problem with the capture card or with the software. If it is caputer card, i would like to know if there is someone that is able to caputure 5+hr and put on one dvd straight from the file created by the card without haveing to re-encode. I have to burn over 30hr of video per week and dont have time to re-encode everything.

If it is the card, i can go an buy a different card. If it is the software, i would hope it could be patched. If it is my settings, what else should i try?
