    First, a couple of tips

    1. Post images in a more user friendly format, such as jpeg. Not everyone has Paint Shop Pro.

    2. Post as much information as possible. Better to put too much detail than not enough.

    3. Post only in one forum. If you aren't sure where, post here and a mod will move it if necessary.

    In the spirit of point 2 therefore;

How did you rip the video from the disc ?
Does the video play on your PC after ripping ?
Did you demux the video before importing into DLP ?
Can you open the video in g-spot and post a screenshot of the details.
    Read my blog here.

  3. thanks for the tip, sorry about the image file, that was an oversight-i thought i had sent it as jpg.

I simply used copy & Paste to rip the video to my hard drive, and the video
    plays fine on my pc.
i shall try demux and also send you a screenshot of details from g-spot asap.

thanks very much for your help

When you try to load a VOB set into DLP, it should suggest that demuxing in the favored option, and offer to do so. Let it, then use the resulting files.

Your menus are fine it looks like you have too many titles in Connection window and they are not in Asset bin or connection fo the file in Asset bin is not there (cannot find file location on your HD).

  6. DLP is't suggesting that i demux.
is there another way of demuxing?
or perhaps if i converted the whole file to another format? any suggestions
    here is the g-spot screenshot:

I suspect that your main problem is because you are using >VRO files, not VOBs or elementary streams. Your second problem will be that the video is half D1, so make sure your project settings allow for it or you will still get compile problems.

But first you need to get the mpeg video/audio off the disc in a usable form. G-spot thinks this is a VOB, so perhaps .VRO has the same basic format as a VOB container. If so, try changing the extension from .VRO to .VOB, then opening it in DLP. If you still don't get prompted to demux, then check to see if you have turned this option off (Project -> Properties -> Options -> VOB set to Always Ask). If it was turned off, set it back on a try again.

If the option is already on, then try using VOB2MPG to extract the mpg programme stream, then load this into DLP.

  8. Thanks for the tips, i will try them asap, and inform you of the outcome (probably over the weekend)
    i have one more question:
the video is made up of 4 episodes of tv programmes that were recorded
on different days, and yet they appear as one video on the disc.
is there any way of splitting the video back into the four sepperate movies
in dvdlab pro2, or is there other software that you may be able to recomend that would do the job?

    many thanks

VOB2MPG should see them as 4 titles and give you four files accordingly.

DLP has a trim function, so if VOB2MPG does give you a single file, you could load it four times into DLP, and trim each version down to one episode.

Or you could use the demo version of VideoRedo to trim it (best option is VOB2MPG doesn't work)

  10. Hi again.
i have tried changeing the file extension to .VOB
the file still plays fine and will open in DLP.
However, when the VOB file window pops up on opening the video file
all the buttons are closed and it does not give me the option to demux.
    see screenshot

And now i have got a shiny new verification report:

I have, as yet, been unable to load VOB2MPG onto my system,
i think i need to instal .NET Framework Version 2.0?
    so will try that next.

  11. thanks for all your help, i have at last managed to demux the
VRO file into something i can work with. if it helps anyone else, here is
    how i done it:

1: change the file extension from VRO to VOB in windows explorer
2: open the file in DLP, you should then be asked what you want to do with the file. change the setting in "what to do next time you load such a file" to automaticaly demux.
3: close the project, and reopen the file in DLP. it should then automatical start to demux the file.
4: when it has finished you should now have files that DLP can work with.

once again, thanks for your help. there is no way i would have been able to work out how to do it without it
