i don't know how to ask this but here goes..how does one get past the fat32 limitations in win/98..i use super 1394 to capture and when i download from my digi camcorder, it cuts out after about 20 minutes..i then have to start the capture again..any suggestions..thank to u all and i think this is a great forum..

FAT32 has limit of 4GB for the files you create or save.
The only easy way to overcome the limit is to upgrade to NTFS, that means, to upgrade to Windows 2000 Pro or Windows XP.
I'd recommend Win2K thou. -
I'm not familar with your software but some capturing programs have a 'spill system' that will spilt your capture into several < 4GB files (eg. AVI_IO and VitrualDub).
I did this for a while (then frameserved with avisynth). But if you're going to be working with digitial video you really should step up to NTFS. Makes life much easier (esp if you decide to start burning/ripping/generating DVD image files).
